During Paul Otellini’s keynote at IDF 2011, Intel’s CEO mentioned that the company has completed work on the development of Haswell, its next generation architecture – set for launch in 2013.

One of key architectural improvements is promised all day autonomy for high-performance notebooks, which currently have 4-5 hour autonomy. The ultra-low power versions of Haswell should be able to last a whole flight from Singapore to New York (even though you have power powers in that all-business class Airbus A340-500 aircraft).
