Even though OCZ is in the news more for its rumored takeover (which our sources close to heart of the matter peg as a done deal), the company is continuing to develop its manufacturing facilities. Earlier this year, OCZ Technology moved its SSD manufacturing into a new facility in Taipei, Taiwan.

Couple of months passed and we were not surprised to read that the manufacturing facility received an ISO 9001: 2008 quality management certification. According to our sources, one of key reasons why OCZ drives had higher-than-industry-average failure rates (which ultimately are causing financial losses) was the lack of strict guidance and internal auditing in its manufacturing facility.

Given that the company allegedly spent good portion of its inventory (approx. $140 million) on acquiring Triple-Level-Cell (TLC) NAND Flash supplies for its upcoming solid state drives, it is obvious why the company needs to have its workers audited to the highest standard.
