DaVinci Resolve, a world known color grading platform, got its upgrade to version 10, and with it a special expansion. As of this version, Resolve features a dedicated video editing tool as well. It seems as Blackmagic design reacted to any potential market need for another viable option for professional video editing, the need which might have emerged when Apple did the 180 degree turn with Final Cut Pro X.

Resolve 10 user will have 5 main application sections named: Media, Edit, Color, Gallery & Deliver, to complete more tasks of a project within one software.

Color correction part of the software received a large list of significant improvements, however on this occasion some of new editing features should be stressed: Multi track video and audio editing, extensive clip trimming support, high quality optical flow image processing, compound clips, multiple take selection, expanded XML and AAF roundtrip support, audio level controls with track mixing, stereoscopic 3D editing, and many more.

Availability of this interesting content creation toolset is expected in Q3.
