Next LG?s flagship recently appeared in both video and photos ? practically one month from the official event scheduled for August 8. The next Optimus is, logically, named G2, and pretty much everything you can imagine about this particular device is already known.

LG didn?t hold any secrets when it recently announced that most of their high-end devices will carry the current and very speedy Qualcomm?s Snapdragon 800. Aside from that, Optimus G2 is basically a 5.2-inch flagship smartphone with 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel shooter (supposedly the same one found in the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z).

Interestingly enough, designers of this unit decided to drop the side keys (volume rocker, and possibly the power key as well) and swap it with what rumors claim to be a touch sensitive strip found on the back side of the device, just below the camera optics:

Unit?s exterior reminds us of the current Nexus 4, older Optimus G and even iPhone (particularly with placement of the speakers) and we would not be surprised if it actually becomes a new Nexus variant at some point in the future. Engadget crew actually managed to get a hold of some additional snaps of the unit:
