Some of you may have not heard yet, but Adobe’s ‘revolutionary’ new cloud platform called Adobe Creative Cloud is currently suffering major connectivity problems and has been for the past 22  hours. What does this mean? It means that people that are using ANY of Adobe’s Creative Cloud services cannot access their applications because they simply won’t launch due to not being able to connect to the Creative Cloud DRM servers. If you don’t already have the application open or aren’t already logged into your Creative Cloud account, you simply can’t access it whatsoever.

This means that people who are paying for Adobe Creative Cloud every month anywhere from $10 a month to $100 a month could be without their professional tools. Thankfully for me, I’m running on Adobe Photoshop CS6 on my main machine, which means that even if the Adobe Creative Cloud servers goes down I can still continue to work. And you know what, I have a feeling that a lot of people that relied exclusively on Adobe Creative Cloud have probably installed some older program and are working from it (if they have older licenses, or are just pirating for now). The truth is that this perfectly exposes the flaw in Adobe’s DRM for Adobe Creative Cloud and what kind of an impact there could be if their service were to go down, as it clearly is according to Adobe’s own Twitter.

Adobe is advising that if you’re having problems logging into your Adobe Creative Cloud that you follow the procedures listed on this page.

Obviously, such a prolonged outage is a very big deal to a lot of professionals and Adobe Creative Cloud login is still not online, which means that people still cannot access their applications if they need them for work (which many people do). As we had indicated earlier, there are some other possible workarounds available while Adobe Creative Cloud is down, but there is a good chance we could see Adobe’s login/ID service come on shortly and when it does, Adobe will notify Adobe Creative Cloud users here. This whole dustup also explains why I got a peculiar email from Adobe telling me that my account had been created even though I’ve been an Adobe Creative Cloud member/user for many months.
