Mark Twain pointed out over a hundred years ago that if you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you do read the newspaper, you are misinformed.

The first comment is obviously way off track, so I'll ignore it :-)

Great story.. This is the sort of journalism which I truly enjoy digesting!

Yes Agreed.
It has been happening for a while. However it has gotten much more prevalent and malicious in the last couple of years. With Belkin getting caught paying for reviews on Amazon. the GB Asus War.

Most of these have popped up in the last 2-3 years. In fact in the US it has caused them to draft legislation forcing Bloggers to reveal their income sources.

Talk about old news...

Companies have been doing this for a very long time, it´s not even surprising. And let´s not forget that some editors and tech sites are paid to release certain news or reviews. For exmaple in videogames sites, there are some games that simply can´t get a bad review despite the fact that they are bad! (Halo3 e ODST for example).
But it could be worse, it could be like in the stock market, were a CEO from an investment fund, makes a call to a friend of his, that happens to be the CEO of a newspaper, to release certain news so that the shares that the first owns can be sold at a much better price... In the end, it´s the world we´re living...

Not sure where you got that.

I am sure I mention that all companies do this and list incidents from them all.

It has nothing to do with one side or the other.

So what you are saying sean is that you are apologising to your reader for all the baseless nVidia FUD you have been speading, and all the free marketing buzzwords you have been spouting for them?
