finally! by: Anonymous on 11/5/2009
It's a shame AMD held on to him and let him rob them for so long. Im sure the tenticles are wider spread than we might imagine but he took and underdog and all but ruined it. and the money he made from it wow. maybe they will park him in the cell next to Bernie Madoff. Too bad his antics cost so many AMD emloyees there liveliehood. I hope they string him up.
Riuz belongs in a mexican jail by: Michael A. McKenney on 11/3/2009
Ruiz doesn't deserve a US Prison. He should be put in a Mexican prison to rot.

I hope AMD develops better chipsets for its CPUs. I would go back with a better server board design to put under it.

Good riddance!!!! by: Anonymous on 11/2/2009
AMD will be better off without him, I never cared for him as he never struck me as a CEO. Good riddance
Dear Readers... by: Theo Valich on 11/2/2009
When commenting on this story, please do not use foul language because we will delete those posts.

I had to delete some of the posts because of profanity. Every person, regardless of who he is makes the choices he or she ultimately regrets. Are those choices affecting just a few people, hundreds or thousands of people - that is completely up to them. No man or woman is guilty until proven otherwise. As far as this article goes, the writing is on the wall - but so far, no legal consequences are brought upon Mr. Ruiz.

Retain civil level of conversation.

Lost my job at AMD over your bonuses that ran into tens of millions of dollars. His salary was nothing else than charade he was earning millions of dollars on preferred stock price at guaranteed prices. They all took millions of dollars from beloved AMD while we were bleeding out. So many good people, friends left the company because of inept greedy bastards.

Ruiz you should rot in Jail and hope you have a good company.

Busted!!!
I was at Motorola when Ruiz was there by: Anonymous on 11/2/2009
Ruiz was not a very technically sophisticated boss. He often had to ask junior staff to explain what was new.

His track record as a CEO is a lot like many other CEO's. Good resume but not real leadership that makes a positive difference in the overall results the company accomplishes. For Sure a mistake for AMD and Globfoundries
RE: Hector knows... by: Theo Valich on 11/2/2009
...you need location of his former office in Sunnyvale? Interesting meeting room, integrated into to his Cali office. Need details on color of the walls [hint: not the company colors], number of awards and plaques etc etc?

True, it was back few years ago. Need contents of his business card - yes, they're outdated, but still...

Personally, he stroke me as a modest person. Professionally well... his track record at Motorola Semi [now Freescale], AMD and GlobalFoundries speaks for itself.

Hector knows by: Anonymous on 11/2/2009
Does Hector even have the first clue who you are? I seriously doubt that he would recognize your or your name if asked.
WOW! by: Anonymous on 11/2/2009
This is a fast change after the shock of Ruiz being pulled into the investigation of the investment company Galleon Group LLC.

IP address change delay

Greetings,

The planned network provider change will not happen as planned, due to our site administrator ending in hospital as a consequence of his gliding accident. The wounds are not life-threatening but Mr. Ivica Hosko is still in the hospital, four days after the crash with transportation to Zagreb in two days time. We send our best wishes and hope for a speedy recovery. As soon as Mr. Hosko returns to his daily post, we'll announce the details of our network provider switch.

The following message is for Mr. Ivica himself:  "Ivica, you nut - gliding around a 2km/6600ft mountain with changeable winds in November?"

Thanks for understanding,

Ed-in-chief
