WHO CARES!! by: Anonymous on 12/1/2009
I really dont see the problem in buying and Selling the ES Chips... Honestly being in the Overclocker Club, I see nothing but good come out of the early release of the chips to the elite.

It lets people like me anticipate even more on the actual release and see the potiental the new product line will carry.

ITS CALLED MARKETING!! INTEL IS VERY GOOD AT IT... Buying and selling of an ES chip before it is released is in NO WAY harming INTEL at all... It simply makes people want them NOW...

I believe INTEL would be out of there mind to waste time and money pursuing anyone with these chips they are doing nothing but promoting the product what more can you ask for FREE ADVERTISING..
It happens in the US too - just not as blatant by: Anonymous on 11/30/2009
System builders have been selling these chips for years by lapping them so the customer never finds out.

In my estimation, Intel has been intentionally holding the release of 32nm chips. They announced that 32nm production started a few months ago, yet they delayed the release of the Arrandales.

In terms of Socket 1366 Nehalems, the i7 920 was released over a year ago. At least Intel should release a 130TDP i9 right about now if they are true to their tick tock.

I will speculate the reasons why Intel is doing this:

1. To wait for AMD G34 release as part of their settlement, so AMD can have an answer to the i9s.

Or 2. Intel's having thermal issues at 32nm node.

Or 3. Intel's being retarded right now.

Coupled with the delay of Nehalem-EX, I suspect reason #1. Shit, Nehalem-EX is Intel's biggest paper launch of the decade. Paper launched in May, promising a Q2, 2009 release. It is now delayed to 1H 2010, just so that AMD can catch up?

WTF? by: Anonymous on 11/30/2009
@ Anonymous: Apparently, you did not read the story at all. If you had done so, you would not have asked your questions.
WTF? by: Anonymous on 11/30/2009
What is the point of this "story"? To tell us how jolly important you are because you have lots of ES chips?

Grow up, FFS.
Deal! by: Radu M. Cosma on 11/30/2009
Yeah, I'd like some 45nm Core 2 Quad CPUs!
How much?

NO, i don't do business with monopolist scum.

I really do not see where is the drama in all of this; even I did not have any idea for such a market (since it's not of my interest) and for the majority of populace the whole story lacks any appeal.

Even when the 6 core chip comes out I have no intention of buying it, since I do not run a server and it's extremely difficult to write such multithreaded applications for programmers; for tasks that can run in multithreads there is a way more efficient method-Nvidia Fermi.
