RE: by: Theo Valich on 12/21/2009
The information for this story is a combination from multiple sources, including ones we didn't had the images from.

We're almost certain in the information given to us. There are at least several 32nm GPU coming in 2011, and that's AMD Fusion processors [for starters].

As far as discrete GPUs go, Northern Islands is completely new architecture and according to information we have, it will look fairly similar to nVidia's Fermi, given the GPGPU constraints of the current architecture.

But by: Anonymous on 12/15/2009
But wasn't this story about 32nm GPUs in 2011?

http://brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/11/2/amds-next-gen-gpu-manhattan-and-northern-islands-use-32nm-process.aspx

Manhattan is 40nm thats for sure but Northern Islands are 32nm / 2011 parts?
It's an Article People! by: Anonymous on 12/15/2009
Bottom left "roadmap subject to change without notice."

"Did you not see the color coding?" - That's the point. :D Did you not see that the discrete graphics are also included? By this analogy Theo thinks that the next DESCRETE(not APU)graphics will be late and 32nm.

"Lynx shows 32nm APU, that combines CPU and GPU from AMD." - You're not a smart one, we are talking about DESCRETE graphics, since when is Northern Islands part of any APU?

PS.I'm not a smart one either just read and comprehend, it's simple. :D

The "skipping 32nm" was just a single rumor from a single tech site.

There were plenty of people who thought AMD would have a 28nm GPU out by Q2 2010 for some reason.
@Pffft by: Anonymous on 12/14/2009
Did you not see the color coding?
At the top left it shows Green is 45nm red is 32nm

Lynx shows 32nm APU, that combines CPU and GPU from AMD.

I did not read anywhere in the article where Theo said there were 45nm GPUs.

Not GPU but CPU/GPU product ie Fusion.
by: Anonymous on 12/14/2009
yes, 32nm is dead.
Pfff... Theo... by: Anonymous on 12/14/2009
Even I can read the damn slides better.
And I am not a "professional".
Show me please one discrete GPU on 45nm. :D
Those are for CPU's.
The slides presented only shows the platform and the CPU tech used in the specified platform.
For GPUs:
2009-55nm and 40nm
2010-40nm and hopefully 28nm(~Q4)

2009-Most units sold:HD4000 family, but still I bought on HD5800 in Q4.
2010-Most units sold:HD5000 family, but hopefully I can buy one HD6870 around Q4.

"Northern Islands are set to arrive in 2011, 32nm process." - Read my lips(letters): No, it won't arrive on 32nm and no, not in 2011.
28 or 32? by: Anonymous on 12/14/2009
Wasn't it reported recently that TSMC would skip 32nm for 28nm, just like GloFond? Or am I missing something?
