Thanks for the steam breakdown. As for reasons to get Windows 7, I vote for Aliens vs Predator in a couple of months. Until then I'll still be rockin XP.
Good luck!!! by: Anonymous on 12/29/2009
DX10 and 11 games really do look good on XP, don't they?
Is windows 7 a Red Herring by: Greg442 on 12/29/2009
Is windows 7 a Red Herring? It may be a performance improvement from vista, but besides a UI upgrade it’s not much of an upgrade from XP. In fact it’s a downgrade TBH. Over the past several months I’ve been a strong advocate for windows 7, but after using win 7 day to day, little things XP did very well are impossible in windows 7 and its beginning to piss me off. My #1 annoyance with windows 7 is the stupid auto arranges files/folders/pictures. The ability to drag a file/folder/picture to a new location in windows XP has been replaced an mandatory auto arrange. While there’s maybe a hundred choices to set how you’d like them arranged..by month, day, rating, tag, name, time, size… there’s NOT a toggle to turn auto arrange OFF.. And simply let me drag my files file/folder/picture to whatever location my little heart desires. Moreover, if you’re happy with your current OS, I cannot think of one reason to recommend buying windows 7 at a price premium to have less features than XP.
