Windows 7 by: Michael A. McKenney on 4/21/2009
I went to Vista x64 Ultimate SP1 when SP1 was released. Unless Windows 7 offers me something spectacular in hardware support performance, I can't see jumping on it at home. My workstation is stable on Vista x64 Ultimate SP1.

On the corporate network I manage, my 3rd party software vendor is usually 18 months behind on testing new OS and service packs. XP Pro SP3 is stable. Does not require more than 2GB of RAM and a dual core. I am not planning on getting Vista or Windows 7 for my network. I don't see a reason to spend money on a new OS.

I was hoping for WinFS to come out. I would like a faster, less intrusive OS for my hardware.
