In terms of heat dissipation, this will be a better design - more copper IHS surface. On the other hand, G34 could really benefit from direct-contact heatpipe coolers... again, it looks like this design is predominately server oriented, while workstations won't have a field day with finding a discrete, silent solution.

That looks like it's going to be a painful formfactor for heatsink manufacturers. I think it's going to be hard to make universal sinks for LGA1366 and G34.
