how is this information accurate???? nvidia have already stated the part will have a 384bit bus yes? ergo there cannot be 1GB rounded cards. which means the smallest amount of memory this thing is likely to come with is 1.5GB. the next rung will be 3GB. where have the 1 and 2Gb rumours come from?

700/1600/4400 eh?
I was expecting 2.5TF, so ~725/1650, give or take a little. This is pretty close. 5ghz GDDR5 isn't a surprise...Surely RV870XT will use the same, with the slower harvested parts using 4ghz.
If the word is it missed it's target clocks by over 10%, that would imply they were shooting for AT LEAST 775/1750-800/1800. For the sake of 2.75TF and at least 10%+ to both clocks, I'm going to guess the later.
Did you mean 10%+ on the core, the shader, or both, Theo? Was the ratio supposed to stay @ ~1c/2.25s? You're so cryptic! :)
While the DPFP is interesting, most people arn't going to buy a Quadro.
An interesting thing to note is that at the rumored clocks of 950mhz and 96 TMUs vs 700mhz and 128 TMUs (if GT300 has fixed-function TMUs...if not it's VERY screwed) the 5870x2 would actually edge GT300 out. Flops and ROPs (again, assuming GT300 is has them fixed-function...either 32 or 64, probably 32) would not even be close.
Barring some terribly bad crossfire scaling resulting in xx% worse texture performance, I fail to see how the 5870x2 will not completely slaughter the GT300.
P.S. Theo: Thanks a ton for the digging and the constant updates. It's very much appreciated. Keep up the great work!

Wow, this card is really looking to be quite a beast. I can't wait to see some bench's with this thing.
