Embeded OS by: Sean Kalinich on 6/24/2009
If I remember correctly the embdeded OS in these is Linux Based for the NAS appliances.

I have asked Seagate to confirm this.

Linux does support AD integration as does OSX.

Any particular reason why you don't want Microsoft tech inside and want Linux instead? Potentially lower price or something else that bugs your mind?

I don't want Microsoft stuff in my NAS. Where the #### are the Linux powered NAS appliances? I remember the ones from Simpletech were quite nice...

Well I was wrong and I am glad for it. Maybe Seagate has seen the light.
something new by: Sean Kalinich on 6/23/2009
Ok The BlackArmor Backup (including disaster disks) software installs and runs on Windows 7 (RC1 Build 7100) x64.
It looks like at least that part is working.
I have not tried the other part of the software as the old Seagate Manager v2.1.13 sees and works with the new WS 110 (1TB).

Expect a review of this plus the NAS 440 in the near future.

Will be interesting to see if they do an about face with their support for 64 bit. My guess would be they still wont support it.
