Hi Anonymous,

Old-school journo here, and I always use alphabetical order... you might have noticed that: ATi vs nVidia, AMD vs Intel... needless to say, guys from companies that came second always complain - I heard numerous times "yeah, but we are bigger than AMD, why are you putting them first"... and well, haven't changed my writing style since.

It doesn't matter who is first and second - some writing styles adhere to strict standards... I am just writing in a way I got used to.

P.S. Istanbul vs Nehalem. AMD also comes first. ;)

Theo,

This may be nitpicking but, why is it when there is 'blame' to go, AMD's name appear first in your reporting while Intel's is always second. This is opposite to the ordering in the quote from the bellyacher. Shouldn't the big guy get their bellyful first?

You might be onto something about the non-optimized code being the bottleneck. I have seen some nasty as molasses spaghetti codes in my time.
