RE: by: Theo Valich on 7/1/2009
Our video studio uses Luxology Modo and well, works good - but of course, nothing can compare to a GPGPU accelerated framework.

Seen some demos of Max and Maya, and was thoroughly impressed, but I always felt more work was needed in the rendering engines.

GPGPU is the way to go for streaming operations and nothing is more streamlined than renderers.

Might be worth the shot by: Anonymous on 7/1/2009
We use Luxology Modo, but rendering on anything is a pain. Even with Dell 8-core Harpertowns and 16GB RAM, we don't get what we need.
Might be worth the shot, but we use Quadro FX cards. Getting this V8650 card with MachPro is a good idea.
Guys have volume pricing? ;)
Impressive but by: Anonymous on 6/30/2009
Its not the first to the punch. Pimtools has essentially been doing this for over a year now. Altho to be fair its not available to anyone except beta testers and select companies. But what they are doing is with it is amazing! And its exactly whats needed as complexity and realism gets higher and higher.

bring on the GPGPU future!
