Don't be a tard. Physics come into play, heat conduction and retention, expansion. Chip would heat the air around it faster than the air could cool down, resulting in a fried chip.

If 45nm can do run on room air and do that, when will it be that we go back to just a heat sink and no fan on CPUs?
