Actually that's a good idea, but... who will control that you will assemble the two said systems and deliver them to a charitable organization? And what's more, even if you manage to do that on a local basis (say the whole USA), you would need to pay the additional costs to set up an organization of "volunteers" (nobody works for nothing) just to handle that. And globally? I don't think AMD would like to support the additional costs for this initiative. It would in the end cost a LOT more than what they would be earning from the sales of this special CPU.

I'd sell them at the same price as INTEL's top performing CPU, the extreme one. Then, it would really be a battle between equals, cost related (obviously not counting the costs of the rest of the components like motherboard, ram, ecc.) An overclocker would then be able to choose the CPU he want's to "massacrate under LN2" taking in consideration only the performance and higest overclocking potential. Let's face it: who overclocks to a world record level, usually is either sponsored (by a brand - a shop - a rich uncle: you name it) or has a lot of money to spend on it. So choosing a CPU, taking away the price point, would be much more fair, cpu wise.
Here's an idea. by: Toby Hudon on 7/1/2009
Since the TWKRs are so limited, maybe AMD should ask for an unusual price.

How about to get a TWKR, you have to build and donate 2 complete AMD-based systems (new parts, not refurbs) to a school or charitable organization? I was going to say donate the value of an i7 EE but that's like way too much relative to AMD's other CPU prices. You could build two entire lowend Phenom machines for half the i7 EE's MSRP so I think that's fair.

This way they won't all get snapped up by the rich kids who will just use them to play CS and brag about how much their dad paid for their system.
