Drive through hospitals next? by: LooseCannon on 7/1/2009
It is all about money i agree....be it in the US where Medical is all private (which makes it more of a money/profit issue) or in a country like Canada ,UK where theres a government healthcare system its all about budgets unfortunately. Soon a trip to the ER will be like going to McDonalds where you will be greeted by an automated diagnostic machine.....anyways the point of the article is about the sensitive patient information that will be potentially exposed to the "dark side" of the internet,it just opens a whole can of worms unless they can secure it properly(cough). As far as removing a qualified healthcare profesional from a sick patient, well that is just wrong if thats what they are getting at.....after treament remote monitoring is good as long as there is a human on the other end when the alarm bells ring

Since you put this article into the business section, you already know the answer !
Health care is just another form of (seriously big) business.
