Lufthansa is working on putting Internet in planes in all of its fleet. Problem is that Europe does not have GoGo's infrastructure - they use abandoned cellphone towers.

I can't wait for more airlines to catch on to this, cause this would make airline flights seem that much shorter.

This is one of the most amazing "concepts" I've seen in a while... considerig that usually I shut down my web-capable mobile while flying, and te laptop usually is confined to the storage area of the plane, if I am even bringing it with me.
Interesting is te fact that, notwothstanding the average speed, it is way much more I was expecting - 36,000 above ground level!
Way to go, AirTran! Too bad here in Europe no one has their capacity to even think of things like these...
