Now that the Pulsar has been released by: Anonymous on 12/12/2009
Now that the Pulsar has been released it seems like Kevin D Vassily's assessment of Seagate's product was very accurate. The Pulsar is not competition for STEC. It uses a slow interface, relatively slow performance compared to STEC's ZeusIOPS, and most likely uses the Sandforce controller based on the performance specs.

Seagate's entry into the SSD arena is a dud.

I am not sure I follow you here.
Seagate has not done anything wrong in this case...
An Analyst made missleading comments apparently in an effort to show a competing company in a better light than Seagate.

I also contacted LSI and they made the following statement

"LSI's official comment is that they do not agree with the research report issued by Pacific Crest Securities."

Combine this SNAFU with the fact that Seagate has a history of ignoring Linux and I think we have a recipe for a disaster.
