Kingston launches on SSDNow V+, performance & value SSDs

Not Worth It

As a system builder, I installed several Intel 80 gig SSDs and switched to Kingston on 2 installs. In real world performance, these 2 systems went slower than a Western Digital 500 Gig SATA drive. The Intel SSD's were fantastic. The Kingston SSD is money down the drain.

Samsung RBB controller has the famously ridiculous random write 4K performance, it is much much worse than even the Vertex Indilinx controller, let alone intel's X25-M Gen2.
64GB for $254 is a joke. Vertex 60GB(really 64GB, since it sacrifice SSD channels for random performance) is only 180ish. Intel X25-M gen2 80GB is only $225. Why someone would pay a premium for inferior samsung RBB controller flash is beyond me.
Disappointed in this product.
