I'm no english expert, but this article is poorly written.
"manufacturers sanctioned overclocking "... that means they permitted it.

I don't what i'm reading anymore.

AMD IS BETTER!

Funny thing is one of the reasons apple used to make fun of pc's because of their intel/amd cpu's. Now they use it. LOL. But of course apple is just over rated anyway... There isn't one single thing that I need a mac for that I can't do on my pc and do nicely.

"which is why the Power PC chips always out performed their x86 counterparts"

Most of what you said was good, but power pc chips don't out perform intel's newest i7 core. This is also why apple ended up going with intel chips. They were faster.
Re:Fastest Ever? by: Anonymous on 8/3/2009
Instead of "The fastest processors ever were..." you should have said "The fastest CLOCK SPEED processors ever were" since they aren't the fastest performing processors. Clock speed doesn't=performance, which is why the Power PC chips always out performed their x86 counterparts.
Illegal??? by: Anonymous on 8/3/2009
Legalized overclocking? What country and what law makes overclocking illegal?
Fastest Ever? by: Anonymous on 8/3/2009
It's not the PD 965. The fastest processors ever were the Pentium 4 processors clocked at 3.8Ghz (namely, 670 and 672 for the 1MB and 2MB 90nm Prescotts, respectively). On a side note, the fastest OC clock is also a loathesome P4 (Cedar Mill 631) at over 8Ghz. I'm looking for both those records to fall in mid-2011.
