Raytracing and HDR in 2012? Hahahaha.
Screenshots are pre-rendered, you are not watching the real stuff.
I'm sick of pre-rendered demos. YEEES, that includes you too Nvidia.
I agree with the ten year perspective.

"We aren't in liberty to disclose the title's name nor the studio [...]"

In 6 years gpus will be 640x more powerful for the same price of todays graphics cards so in like 10 years raytracing will be in all games :D

NICE SCREENS...
CANT SEE SH1T CAPTAIN!
LOOKS GOOD, BUT YEA I GUESS WE'LL HAVE TO TAKE YOUR WORD ON THE DETAIL.
SO LIKE, THE 1000(ONE THOUSAND) 5870 GPU CLOUD THEY USED TO RENDER THIS IN REAL TIME WILL ALSO BE IN EVERYONE'S PC WHEN THEY TRY TO PLAY THIS GAME AT THE SAME SETTINGS?
1(ONE) 5870 GPU IS LOOKING TO COST AROUND $400 WHICH PUTS IT ALREADY NEAR THE TOP END OF ENTHUSIAST GPU PRICING.
RAYTRACING IS THE FUTURE FOR SURE, BUT IF IT TAKES 1000 OF THE NEWEST GPUS TO MAKE AN IMPRESSIVE REALTIME MOVIE ITS GONNA TAKE EXACTLY THAT MANY TO DO THE SAME FOR THE GAME.

Theo, why can't you show us the 10-second clip from the movie? Is there an NDA or embargo and if so, when does it end?

Guys and girls, thank you for the comments. When it comes to this being possible or not, bear in mind that 12 months ago, I had the privilege of seeing a teaser trailer for Transformers [American viewers saw those on TV] being rendered on an ATI Radeon 4870X2 [on ATI 4800 series briefing].
In order to create movie-effects and photo-realistic graphic, you need certain amount of computing power. For instance, all of the FX in James Cameron Titanic were made on a 400 CPU system that had less performance than you can get on a motherboard today [GeForce 9400 roughly has 3x the computational power than 400 AMD CPU systems in 1998].
If you would go and render this on a Fusion Cloud AMD is talking about, with 1000 5870s, you have more computational power than whole world had 4-5 years ago.
In other words - better believe it. :-)
Ed.

That is total shit. No offense people of 2009, but where I come from (2020) those graphics are super shit. nVidia has just released it's 6th generation 3D holographic video cards. Oh yeah, ATI dies in 2013.

i don´t know about you guys, but this seems to good to be true...
It seems like the Final Fantasy movie, that was supposed to be so real and it was just as good as videogames cutscenes...
And the game must be like adventures games, with amazing background graphics and nothing else...

Breathtaking technology! Every game developer should license their tech. This is what next-gen games are going to look like. Bravo to Jules Urbach, Big Lazy Robot and the rest of the team.

Jesus Holy Christ Lord Almighty. Are you telling me that this is not a movie clip, but rendered in real time on ATI grafix?
I cannot believe. I just cannot believe. If this is anime, what is real world. GPU win. Period.
