Your assumptions are completely incorrect by: Anonymous on 2/3/2010
Get you money back from your sources. They were either playing with you or don't have any idea what they are saying. The screen shots are not Windows Phone 7. Not even close. You need to get a qualified source....not some hear say. you should speak with qualcomm not nvidia about this topic.
Clueless by: Anonymous on 2/3/2010
It is appearant that on the internet you can write anything all with no proof and most people will assume it is true. This comment may not make to your post but just for your info... you are dead wrong!
WM still better by: Anonymous on 1/16/2010
I don't see the issue personally. Even if WM7 isn't released there is still nothing currently better than a high end WM device IMHO.

Unless Apple release their next device with atleast a 4" screen and a MAJOR upgrade on both software and hardware it would be useless for me regardless of any technology it may have.

It's not like you can run out and purchase something better anyway.

Oh and I have an iPhone as well (unwanted gift) it just seems very much outdated compared to my HTC HD2. Thank you Microsoft keep up the good work, release WM7 when you are ready we'll be waiting.
WinMo 6.6 by: Anonymous on 1/15/2010
Looks like February 2010 is going to be talking about Windows Mobile 6.6, not Windows Mobile 7.

http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=4983

Definitely looks like WinMo7 is delayed - whether to 2011 or not is another question altogether.
Microsoft to launch Windows Mobile 6.6 in February, say sources by: Anonymous on 1/14/2010

Sounds like confirmation of the delay for Windows Mobile 7, too.

Microsoft remaining silent? by: Anonymous on 1/13/2010
The fact that Microsoft themselves haven't stepped up to squash this rumor implies that there's at least an element of truth to it.

From the NeoWin article: "The truth is, Windows Mobile 7 will be shown at Mobile World Congress next month [...]" Yeah, sure, it'll be *shown*, but that says nothing at all about when people can actually buy phones running it.

Also from the NeoWin article: "In December 2009 Microsoft UK head of mobility Phil Moore confirmed that we won't be seeing Windows Mobile 7 phones on the market until late 2010." So, if not 2011, then pretty darn close! Not much of a rebuttal.

And reading some of the responses to that article... you've almost got to feel sorry for the hardcore Microsoft fanbois these days. They're not getting much to cheer about, which lends a rather desperate edge to their cheerleading efforts.
by: Anonymous on 1/13/2010
The NeoWin article you reference is in response to this piece. Its proof is an LG rep at CES, not a reliable source, IMHO. The article goes on to reference a Microsoft claim that Windows Phone won't be out till late 2010. Previously, June was the target date. My guess is that the world will be lucky to see the software by the end of the year, then the manufactures have to build their phones.

Here's a good news/bad news story about WinMo 6.5:
http://windowsitpro.com/articles/index.cfm?articleid=103415
It's good news that Microsoft appears to be fixing 6.5 to what it should have been. It's bad news they the are bothering to update a dead platform.

Let's all come back next year and settle this.
by: Anonymous on 1/12/2010
Microsoft should go bankrupt, the world would be a better place.
An apology from BSN? by: Anonymous on 1/12/2010
So if this news comes out to be just rumor then are we to expect an apology from this web site? OR DO THEY GET TO GET AWAY WITH THIS?
Neowin thinks the story is just wrong:

by: Anonymous on 1/12/2010
@Previous commentor
News site NeoWin has covered this, and they have spoken to LG reps who confirmed it would be released this year. Microsoft UK confirmed it would be released in late 2010 at worst.
http://www.neowin.net/news/main/10/01/12/windows-mobile-7-delayed-till-2011-umm-no
by: Anonymous on 1/12/2010
And my first thought is that there are a lot of Microsoft fanbois hanging out here. Several of you describe the article as baseless, but nobody has any definitive information to the contrary. Windows Phone (nee WinMo) is in trouble. Do a Google search on Roz Ho and Project Pink.

The phone project was recently delayed from mid year to end of year. It's quite possible that a phone won't appear till 2011. At CES the only thing Steve Ballmer has to say was, 'We'll have more to say about it at the Mobile World Conference." Don't expect any phones to be handed out there.

None of know the truth, including the author, but reading the tea leaves spells trouble for Microsoft. What are the hardware manufactures going to do? Wait for Microsoft to release Windows Mobile 7? Release a new phone using the obsolete WinMo 6.5? No, they're releasing Android phones so they have something new to show their customers.

The longer Windows Phone takes, the better it has to be to reverse the downward trend. It's already late. It may be too late.

What a crap article without facts! Come back when BRIGHT SIDE OF NEWS is v1.0!
I agree that this is baseless by: Anonymous on 1/12/2010
I can't believe that this "news" has spread so far across the internet. It's utter rubbish and it's insane that people have promoted this so much via twitter, let alone waste precious moments of their lives re-wording the same nonsense on their own "news" sites.
THIS IS A LIE! by: Anonymous on 1/12/2010
This lowlife "reporter" (aka a**hole) is trying to get some Google ad revenue by sucking up to Google and spreading lies about WM7.

Complete FUD.

Please leave this site and never visit again.
Proof that web is becoming just a massive pile of misinformation.
This is bollocks! by: Anonymous on 1/12/2010
This article is completely FALSE.

WM7 *will* be available on phones in 2010.
Looking forward to the retraction by: Anonymous on 1/11/2010
What's depressing about this kind of article is that you can write such uninformed rubbish, present it as 'definitely' and then others quote you and send ad traffic your way.

It harms Microsoft but benefits you. And then when you're proven to be talking out your ass, there's no comeback - you've already moved onto the next thing.

It was announced at PDC just two months ago that Microsoft would talk more about mobile at MIX. Robbie Bach told the attendees of the recent analyst briefing that Microsoft would be talking about WM7 at WMC: http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=4913

And yet you somehow feel you've got the confidence to "definitely" claim this baseless nonsense. Pathetic.
could be true by: Anonymous on 1/11/2010
I believe this is true.. WM7 will be shown in WMC BUT it may not make it into consumer hands till 2011.

Likewise device manufactures and OEM's may release WinMo7 capable devices BUT that doesn't mean they'll have WinMo7 on them. They'll more than likely launch these devices this year with WinMo6.5.3 with a clear upgrade path to WinMo7 next year.

Im guessing this is true, which is sad!!!
Unveiling ≠ Shipping by: Anonymous on 1/11/2010
Microsoft may very well be outlining their vision for Windows Mobile 7 next month. But it certainly wouldn't be uncharacteristic of them to pre-announce it, long before they'll actually be able to ship it.
WOW, YOU GUYS ARE TOTALLY WRONG! by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
Please get rid of this post. Microsoft has already sent invitaions for people to attend Mobile World Congress next month in Feb. to see WIndows Mobile 7 for the first time.

Heres your proof > http://www.istartedsomething.com/20100107/windows-mobile-7-all-but-certain-revealed-amobile-world-congress-next-month/

If Windows Mobile 7 was really delayed again to 2011, they would have made an official report, like they did when they delayed it in late 2008. So please stop spreading false information.
Unveiling at MWC. But did they say what year? by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
Microsoft recently hinted to journalists that Windows Mobile 7 will debut at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) in February.

Nobody asked what year. Everyone assumed they meant February 2010. Microsoft couldn't possibly have meant MWC 2011... could they?
wrong by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
You are the ONLY person reporting this. Check your facts. LG already announced winmo7 phones for this year and the HTC HD2 is slated to arrive with Winmo7
by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
So sad. I would wait to see how good it would be but with this delay I will have to buy an Android phone. Any recommendations?
RE: Messenger by: Theo Valich on 1/10/2010
Cellphones are a serious business with a long lead times and decisions made can come to haunt you down.

Here at Bright Side of News*, we don't take sides nor is smartphone market our primary readership audience. We had meetings with partners and discussed the situation on the mobile operating system and the topic of WM7 came along on one, after which we went and asked other companies.

It's simply how it works. We have no interest in reporting that WM7 is delayed into 2011 if that was not true. Don't shoot the messenger, blame MSFT for the continuous war they're waging internally with various projects suffering as a result of it.

Unfortunately, as technology and hardware vendors start investing in Google OS'es which as we all know, have privacy issues. But the situation is at it stands.

Don't shoot the messenger. Perhaps Microsoft will wake up after it loses the OEM design win battle against Google, rather than tearing themselves inside with Zune vs. Pink wars which unfortunately, still last.

Ed.
um, what? by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
Um, LG announced that it's releasing WM 7 devices in 2010. Check your sources again.
Lies Lies DAMN lies by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
Multiple sourcees my Ass.. baseless rumors...
by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
lol trying to make it onto other sites with your made up rumors? there's no way it's delayed until 2011. They already delayed it to 2010. They would be committing suicide to delay for another year. They will be announcing it next month and it will begin shipping this year. LG even confirmed it. LOL.
Microsoft now finished in mobile by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
In 2009, it was catastrophic that Windows Mobile 7 would be delayed until 2010. Now that it is to be put back until 2011 is the certain demise of the Windows Mobile platform.

Microsoft may as well retrench the 1000 or so programmers working on it. There's no point completing it now. If it ever arrives, Windows Mobile 7 will be D.O.A.

Microsoft shareholders should give Ballmer his marching orders for causing this momentous debacle.

I believe this news is true. It would explain the puzzling announcement by LG last Thursday, quoted in the Korea Times as intending to "focus on Android".

We are witnessing a momentous moment in computing history, as Microsoft is knocked out of the mobile phone game. Its proprietary Windows Mobile OS was slain by competitors using open-source foundations (Android based on the Linux kernel, and iPhone based on BSD UNIX).
R u guys nuts! by: Anonymous on 1/10/2010
