MIssing the Price Point

Ok here is the deal,
Core i5 660 - $207
H55 board - $85
Memory - $55
HDD - $80
Total $427
Core i5 750 - $199.99
P55 board - $99
GPU (GF9400) - $50 (or GT 220 about $60)
Memory $55
HDD $80
Total $483
I stand by my comment, the 661 is at a good price point for what you are getting. If you are looking at a quad then you would not be look at that type of CPU to begin with, as for those that say get an Athlon X4 I want to point out that the Core i5 661 keeps up with the Phenom II X4 955, getting an Athlon x4 would mean giving up performance.

When you consider what you are getting then yes it is a good price point.
Most H55 boards will retail for under $100 add this to a $200 CPU+GPU and it is an excellent value system.

Intels IGP's are such a crap that they still use the CPU for almost everything. No wonder Apple doesnt want Arrandale with an IGP and sticks to GPUs from Nvidia.
RE: Nano breast implant...

In a lot of countries, people actually say "silicone" for "silicon", while breast implants are called "silicon". Yes, that happens as well...
In any case - corrected, thanks for the input.

Good Price Point?

Are you kidding me? The i5-661 falls right into Core i5-750's playground! (Where I'm at, its actually more expensive than the quad core part!)
Why would anyone buy this if they know they can get a quad-core in the same price bracket?
It makes more sense to use this "pro" in the conclusion if you reviewed the Core i3 series.

It is written "the i5 661 has a good price point" the correct would be: "the i5 661 has a awful price point".
Great product, terrible price.
Overpriced/Underpowered

Overpriced at $200 where it competes with true Quad Cores, where the Quads performance advantage trumps i5 661 underwhelming graphics. Sure, it plays blue ray, but gaming above solitaire or minesweeper won’t be pretty. Simply not competitive at this price point, but a decent first effort...would look a lot better at the $115 for the "crappy integrated graphics" a segment in which Intel holds the Crown. I’d expect to see this chip in a lot of Dell web surfing rigs, but if performance is your thing avoid this FUD like the plague.
Great Value?

Where is the value on a $200 dual-core with 'just enough' graphics?
In this price bracket you can find a real quad-core, like Core i5 750 or a Phenom II X4.
Maybe the Core i3 in the $120 range will have some value, but this i5 661 at $200 has no value at all.
Regards.
ps: sorry about the english, as it's not my native language.
Nano breast implant?

"If that happens then Intel may find themselves sitting with a great CPU saddled with an unused 45nm block of silicone and priced higher than it needs to be."
45nm block of silicone? Really?
;-)
