This drive has redundancy within the drive itself and yes, it does run a RAID array running an LSI controller but the thing is... you don't experience nearly the downtime that you would if you lost an entire drive. This drive checks for bad modules and sectors so that you can proactively replace them without having to uninstall the drive.

Why exactly is this revolutionary? Isn't a normal SSD RAID setup redundant? If one breaks you can easily replace it and no information is lost. That IS what redundancy means...

Speaking of which, doesn't this Z-Drive need to run in a kind of RAID array in order for it to be redundant? Otherwise it doesn't matter that you can replace a SO-DIMM module in case of failure, the data will still be lost.
