Seagate? WD? by: Anonymous on 10/19/2010
Given that both companies badly underperformed in SSD field, my money is on Seagate or WD.

Hitachi is out because they are Japanese and would not buy one small American company(cultural thing) and Western Digital has chunk'a'change. Seagate is going private so it might be the best to get an alternative to current controller mfg.

Has anyone seen a Pulsar drive? Or SiliconEdge?

Sandforce and ...

Western Digital?
Seagate?
Samsung?

be my guesses.

oh, and INtel.
OCZ Announces SandForce Acquisition (Tomorrow's News Headline) by: Anonymous on 10/19/2010
@Radu, no it's: OCZ IS GOING TO BUY SANDFORCE!! BRING ON THE MICROARCHITECTURAL SSD CONTROLLER ADVANCEMENTS AND LET'S PARTY WOOO!!
Apple? by: Anonymous on 10/19/2010
Apple is buying Sandforce?

I mean, the rumours have custom designed SSDs in the new MacBook Airs. Apple already get flash for cheap. They just need the controller to keep the full production in-house.

Also, when is the commenting system going to start working reliably?

Who else if OCZ doesn't have any money? They're probably the closest partner Sandforce has.

My first guess was Kingston, but they're a private company. Intel is too "proud" to buy technology and admit it's better than their own.

It's a long shot, but I could see Gigabyte interested in the SSD market :D

This is awesome news. BSN is upping the quality of their stories. No news is a huge step up from the fake news we usually get.
