I'm a bit torn about Me2. On one hand, I don't like how they really trimmed the RPG elements out. On the other hand, I'm still having a blast with the game and loving it. So I can't even really say for sure whether the changes were actually for the worst; I've put like 50 hrs into the game and I'm still loving it.

This review is spot-on. The game is superb, even with reduced RPG elements. Even as a 3rd person shooter, it's still worth it for the story alone.

I do wish they didn't do away with the inventory like that. They could have just improved it significantly. Instead of having a scrolling list, they should have gone with a traditional inventory interface (some sort of backpack divided by a grid).

Also, the mining was very dull. I wish the ship upgrades would have eventually allowed you to send a probe to a planet that automatically scavenged all the resources.

All these things aside, ME2 is THE GAME to play in 2010, no matter how many other AAA titles are coming.
