EVERY commercial software manufacturer has ALWAYS only "rented" their software. Goes all the way back to Apple crate and CP/M licenses.

Buy open-source and forget those proprietary rip off folks.

Autodesk are a bunch of pricks. Way to screw paying customers, guys! Isn't every piece of software you buy from anyone other than the author "second hand" (or maybe third or fourth or fifth)? I wonder if Microsoft will sue newegg.com for reselling windows 7 next.
