nVidia's "Intel's Insides" site parodies Intel

Just as this quite tiring day was winding up [typing this at 05:08AM local time], we received an interesting link to Intel's Insides, a web comic where an nVidia insider is taking an interesting look into a company which nVidia considers as their biggest competitor - Intel.

Even though if we forget that the site is hosted on nVidia.com domain, some of the comics were quite funny. This is just a standard creative outlet for an employee or two and it can grew into a significant project, such was when Intel launched its internal Circuits magazine. Today, Circuits has more staff that some serious technology websites. While it is incomparable to put Circuits and Intel's Insides, we did unofficially received some images from Intel after Jen-Hsun Huang, nVidia's carismatic CEO said his infamous quote "we'll open a can of whoop-ass on Intel" [famous last words? Jen-Hsun doesn't think so].

The Intel's Insides doesn't hide its relationship with nVidia - there is an nVidia logo on the site, and like we stated earlier, we checked the IP and the site is hosted on nVidia.com - which makes it semiofficial then.

The comic started on September 21, 2009 with a take on Intel's Developer Forum. The interesting part is that to a point, the comic is even right to a point, as we spoke with several analysts and colleagues who told us that the event was a bit of a downer compared to previous years. If we take a look at things from a different perspective, even AMD has been banging the drum that the pace of GPUs is seriously outpacing Moore's Law in that interesting explanation where doubling of transistors would mean double the performance.

Second comic was published on October 1, 2009 during the nVidia GTC 09 conference clearly parodying the Godfather. This will come into a relation with recent events that positioned Intel's CEO in a different light.

Third comic went into relation with Larrabee and is somewhat tied to Bright Side of News* - this comic was posted after our in-depth analysis of what's going on with project Larrabee.

There is also a traditional Halloween posting - but the last one really takes the cake when it comes to assaulting credibility of Intel's CEO - November 4, 2009 comic shows Paul Otellini declaring "I did not have bribery, coercion, and kickback relations with the computer industry", clearly mimicking Bill Clinton's botched testimony. We are not certain if that is look into the future of the whole federal Antitrust lawsuit between New York State and Intel Corporation, or the remote possibility that the author of this comic is a republican.

In order to put this into context, we would forward you to a certain New York Times ran a story by Ashlee Vance - in which Paul Otellini said the following:  "Mr. Otellini reminded Mr. Dell that Intel had paid Dell more than $1 billion in the last year. 'This was judged by your team to be more than sufficient to compensate for the competitive issues,' he wrote. Dell delayed buying A.M.D. chips, and Mr. Otellini said in a later e-mail message to a colleague that Dell was 'the best friend money can buy'."

With the almost guaranteed media and fanboys lynch which will probably ensue as we could almost bet that this page could disappear overnight. It all depends on just how much "opening a can of whoop-ass" nVidia wants to... open? We thank to Eran Badit for the information about the site.
