Prolight & Sound Show at Frankfurt Messe is known to professionals in audio and light business similar to CeBIT in IT. Our favorite part of the show is Concert Sound Arena. This place features three stages where different manufacturers have presentation of their audio solutions for concert halls and clubs in 20 minute rhythm.
One of them is German manufacturer Coda with their LA8, compact, two-way full range line array module. Interesting thing about this product is patented 4-inch Neodymium Planar Wave Driver inside the box. We can't wait to hear this little beast. Other presenters are K.M.E., TW Audio, Coda Audio, Metro Audio Systems and QUBE.
This is the place where you'll see how the stages are being prepared...
As you probably guess, this is an event for professionals, also featuring outdoor Pro Stage festival with seminars, workshops and demonstrations of new products. Show opens on April 1st [Are you sure, Ed.?;-] with the first presentation starting at 12:00. First presenter is Matthias Burger from Martin Professional, demonstrating the effective use of fog and light on outdoor stages. There you can learn how to increase the effectiveness of the lighting with fog in all conditions, how to measure light and lots and lots of tips'n'tricks directly from Martin Professionals. At 15:30, practical pyrotechnics take the open air stages with Friederike Unverzagt, one of the Germans most experienced pyrotechnicians. Expect THE SHOW.
Second day of the conference will features "Digital stage" signal routing and control in the digital audio world lecture. It is open for public so you can directly ask presenters for advice, followed by Tips & Tricks for working with wireless links. If you are in the audio business, this will be the perfect opportunity to see how digital stage works at first hand. On Friday, Sennheiser organizes a Live Mixing Workshop with Oliver Voges, Wayne "Heights" Gittens and Svenja Dunkel. The audience can see and participate in a complete live sound check with band, FOH and monitor technicians.
Worker security will be detailed in Rigging - Application of personal protection equipment: How to rope people in events with Thomas Wahls.
At Saturday in 14.30 is School Jam Finale with eight qualifiers from this German High School band competition. Don't expect sleazy tunes coming from the German version - expect a lot of rock :-).
The list is huge so if you are in the music business or would like to see how the concerts are being made, view hundreds of new audio products, Frankfurt am Mein, Germany - is the place during this week.
