Acronis True Image Backup now goes Virtual

Sometimes, product names can make you smile because you think it's funny, but after reading the product description, or the price tag, your smile goes away. Not with Acronis Inc.
Their recent announcement of the "Acronis True Image Virtual Edition" does not save your data virtually as one might think, but rather physically, but it saves you costs with virtual machines.

Yes, here's the thing. If you had physical machines previously, you had a licence of Acronis True Image on each one of them. But what if you're going virtual servers now? Migrations to big Hyper-V or VMWare Hosts are very common these days. Yes, you can move your Acronis licences into your VM Host as well, but that does not save you money.

You could also write a script, shut down the virtual servers, back them up via the Host licence and free the licences you had within one's virtualized servers.

That doesn't save anyone time or money. Acronis now offers you a smarter move. Get a Virtual Edition and you can install up to 99 Servers with Acronis that run on the same Host. There, you save time, money and downtime.

We think this is an excellent offer and while we have been using Acronis for a bit now, it's another thumbs up for Acronis.
