Kingston, one of the world's leading manufacturers of memory and flash based products in the world recently announced a cool contest that allows you to shoot videos or pictures from your cellphone. There really is no catch, the only thing you have to do is follow the rules of the contest. The categories are as follows: dance/pose, fun pet tricks, travel/vacation and sports, with a total of 32 prizes being awarded.
A panel of judges will decide winners for each category. Prizes include 8GB Kingston microSDHC cards, 8GB Mobility/Multi-Kits, 16GB SDHC video cards, DataTraveler, HyperX Flash drives and assorted card readers; D-Link Photo Frames and XTreme N Dual Gigabit Wireless Routers; GoPro Motorsports HERO Wide cameras; Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth headsets; and Western Digital WDTV HD Media Players.
"The mobile phone contest is a fun way for consumers to use their cameraphones to show off cool dance moves, crazy pet tricks, favorite memories from exotic locales or hitting the slopes for some rail sliding. Memory cards for mobile phones have opened up a world of rich content possibilities and have made it so much easier to store and share photos and videos" said Wendy Lecot, Flash business development manager at Kingston.
Overall, this seems to be a pretty easy competition to participate in and nowadays, creating a video and uploading it to YouRube from your phone couldn't be any easier. Good Luck to all and happy filming. Photo submissions can be made and complete rules can be found at Kingston's official contest rules site. Video submissions can be made through the Kingston YouTube Contest page.
Of course, this only applies if you are a legal resident of continental USA and older than 18. Even Hawaii, US Virgin Islands and Guam are void from the contest, which is a pretty bad move on Kingston's side. Tough luck if you live in a beautiful Hawaii. Well, we guess the scenery makes up for not being able to participate in this contest. Still, Kingston should be a little bit less restrictive with these rules.
