While several players launched their 128GB USB sticks on last weeks' Computex Taipei 2009 show in Taiwan, those parts aren't going to be available until late June. As a contrast, an American company Kingston Technology Corp., world's largest memory manufacturer [if you want to compare, their 2008 revenue was larger than AMD or nVidia] high-performance and high-quality RAM has just launched a first in the industry.
As of today Kingston is now offering the world’s first 128GB USB flash drive in retail and e-tail.
The new Data Traveler 200 [DT200] 128GB will be a made to order only product due to the cost of mass producing the drive in that size. However if you do not need 128GB in a USB flash drive the DT200 also comes in 32 and 64GB sizes.
The DT200 series features a capless design that still protects the connector when not in use. All DT200 drives are Windows ReadyBoost compliant, and feature the Password Traveler security software for use with Windows.
Pricing for the 128GB flavor of the DT200 will be $546.00 in the US. While the 32 and 64 GB drives are $213 and $120 respectively.
