T-Mobile's Android-powered G2 coming early this summer!

Receiving morning mails from the West Coast US is always interesting. From one side, a crazy Youtube video, engineering diagram for a 95% efficient power supply or an update mail from T-Mobile giving us info that the cellphone operator plans to launch "the follow-on device to the T-Mobile G1 early this summer".

The stats are clear, confirming sales success of first Android cellphone that hit the streets last year. T-Mobile may be smaller player between telco giants such as AT&T and Verizon, but the operator sold over a million of G1 phones in the USA alone. This was followed by almost 5000 applications on the Android Market online store.

The e-mail cites that the G2 should be "exciting" and one of "summer flavors". We'll see what T-Mobile will come up with, but one thing is certain - the Android platform showed its market potential and T-Mobile thinks that a good launch of the G2 can send the G1 into a very affordable price bracket and keep the higher part for the new, more powerful G2.
