AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition hits 7 GHz!

At an AMD-backed overclocking festival in Finland, the honor of becoming first officially recorded and pictured quad-core processor at 7GHz went to AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition.

The gathered crew hoped to score big time with recently released AMD Phenom II 42 TWKR Black Edition processors, but the top honors went to a Phenom II 955, a processor you can buy in stores. To make the matters clear, this was a speed binned 955, but a 955 nevertheless.

AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition at 7 GHz!
AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition at 7 GHz, cooled down with combo of Liquid Nitrogen and Liquid Helium (LN2 cools down the CPU to -200C, then LHe is deployed to reach as low as 250C)

The motherboard used to achieve such a score was DFI's LANParty motherboard equipped with digital PWM, but out of 10 or so motherboards on the event, almost all were capable of achieving highest clocks.
You can see the CPU-Z verified screenshot over at Canard PC, while pictures and vids from the event can be found on XtremeSystems.org forums.

We congratulate to Petri "SF3D" Korhonen for organizing such an event, Sami "Macci" Makinen from AMD for getting all the precious silicon jewels and Pieter-Jan "Massman" Plaisir for his role in this marvelous score.

New Servers are in!

 Greetings and welcome to BSN*,

We have just acquired several brand new servers that are being configured on a multiple 100Mbps links and set up in line with the new features and services that are launching soon. We were assured this investment will solve any issues that plagued the site as a consequence of being linked on mainstream media networks.

We will inform you when the server change takes place, as BSN will be offline for 24-72 hours. Expect a heads-up a week ahead.
