ATI Radeon HD 5870 comes with a free DirectX 11 game!

One of things you might noticed in a tsunami of ATI Radeon HD 5870 reviews out there is a coupon for a free DirectX 11 game. Just like ATI Radeon 9000 series came to life with a coupon for Half-Life 2 [a deal for which ATI paid a lofty six million greenbacks], Radeon HD 5800 and HD 5700 series are coming with a coupon for DiRT 2, a DirectX 11 game coming in December.

We learned that AMD paid one million dollars to Codemasters for the right to bundle DiRT 2 with all of their 5800 series cards, and given the fact that AMD cut down the 5850 by unexpected $40 and 5870 by 20 bucks. According to information we have at hand, the deal is not just for 5800 series, but should cover Juniper-generation [ATI Radeon HD 5750 and HD 5770] as well.

This is actually a great way to promote the new API and quite an affordable one. We know the intricacies of game bundles, especially nVidia ones [Batman: Arkham Asylum, Crysis etc etc.] and this time around, AMD really scored a good deal.

TuL did a great job by offering plain vanilla card, DiRT 2 bundle or a high-quality HDMI cable But beware - you have to check the box to see if DiRT 2 is bundled with the card or not. There are some vendors that didn't launch DiRT 2 promotion with their 5870 cards.

For instance, TuL Corporation [PowerColor brand] did a great job byoffering either a plain vanilla 5870 at a regular price or twohigher-up versions, one with a DiRT 2 and one featuring a high-quality FidelityHD HDMI 1.3a cable from KONNET.
