Ah now for the money talk; to get Looptastic Producer 3 you can plan on spending $15
on the credit card [or gift card] attached to iTunes. There are other versions that cost less [including a free one] than this but none that give you the full range of tools and capabilities that Producer 3 does. To me $15 is a lot to pay for any app, but as I tend to use my iPhone more as a productivity tool I asked a few other people what their thoughts were and found that $15 is not outrageous at all. In fact I was told that $15 for what Looptastic Producer does was a very good price. Conclusion
I am not a musician [although I do understand music theory and to a lesser extent mixing from my video work], but I still found Looptastic Producer 3 easy to use. I was able to create a fairly decent sounding loop in just a few minutes. The simple layout and clean design lend to this and also keep the memory and CPU usage low. This allows Producer 3 to handle the changes in real time and not make you wait to hear what is going on. You could, if you wanted to, actually use this to setup a live loop that you mix and play over a set of speakers. Other nice touches are the ability to import loops directly to the application, purchase new loops from the loop store and the ability to export your recorded loops to a PC [Windows or Linux based] or Mac without the need to connect to iTunes. Sound Trends has an excellent app in Looptastic Producer 3; of course there is room for improvement, and we would like to see a little security with the webserver function, and also a wider array of export and import file types. Still this does not take away from the overall impression and performance we found with Looptastic Producer 3. If you are interested in audio creation and/or just want to play around with it the we can certainly recommend Looptastic Producer 3.
