Fallout New Vegas Teaser Trailer Released

Bethesda Software has released a new teaser trailer for the newest game in the Fallout franchise. Even though Bethesda made the Fallout: New Vegas announcement, it is not being developed in house at Bethesda Softworks. New Vegas is instead being developed by a studio famous for its work on sequels based on already established franchises, Obsidian Entertainment of Neverwinter nights and Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords.

Neverwinter Nights and the sequel, Neverwinter Nights 2 have both critically acclaimed PC RPGs [Metacritic scores of 91 and 82 respectively]. Bioware developed the first in the Knights of the Old Republic series but passed the development onto Obsidian great results [Metacritic: 85]. Fallout appears to be in safe hands for its next chapter. Bethesda Softworks handed off this project so it could work exclusively on its own IP, Brink, that is currently under production and projected to also be released by the Holiday Season 2010.

Bethesda even updated the overview page for New Vegas with their usual humorous flair:
"Experience all the sights and sounds of fabulous New Vegas, brought to you by Vault-Tec, America's First Choice in Post Nuclear Simulation. Explore the treacherous wastes of the Great Southwest from the safety and comfort of your very own vault: Meet new people, confront terrifying creatures, and arm yourself with the latest high-tech weaponry as you make a name for yourself on a thrilling new journey across the Mojave wasteland. A word of warning, however - while Vault-Tec engineers have prepared for every contingency,* in Vegas, fortunes can change in an instant. Enjoy your stay.
* Should not be construed as a legally-binding claim."

Bethesda also released that New Vegas is being developed for a Fall 2010 release, which will place it on shelves in time for Christmas.
