With the New Year come reports that Verizon Wireless has shaved a cool $100 off the Galaxy Tab.
Sources first discovered new in-store displays that advertise a $499 price point with month-to-month contract and then the carrier updated its Galaxy Tab mini-site with the new pricing information.
In addition to a lower price that now matches Apple's 16GB WiFi iPad, the $499 Galaxy Tab now comes with a $60 worth of free movie rentals through either the Blockbuster app or Media Hub.
Of course, it should be noted that Samsung's tablet ships with 16GB of storage, which is a quarter of the entry-level 64GB iPad.
If that's somehow a deal-breaker for you, T-Mobile recently discounted the Galaxy Tab to just $349 with a two year contract.
Additionally, the unfortunate customers who happened to buy the tablet withing the last fourteen days for then $599 will be delighted to know they are eligible for a refund of $100 - something you don't see too often these days with tech purchases.
All you have to do is visit the store where you bought the product to get your refund.
