VIDEO: Apple Acquires C3, Maker of Incredibly Detailed 3D Maps

Nine months ago, we wrote about a Swedish startup C3 Technologies and their incredibly detailed 3D maps of Oslo, the capital of Norway, San Francisco and many more. Their work was so good, that the company was acquired by Apple.

The company quickly became famous for its 3D mapping technology which takes into account the positions and angles of the cameras that took aerial images. This enables giving a geographical location to each individual pixel and there is literally no limits to the precision.

End result: 100% precise renderings, since the company used declassified missile targeting technology created by SAAB. Watch the video below for a demonstration on an Apple iPad:

All of this will be coming to your Apple device in the future, and there is no doubt in our minds that Apple plans to remodel the GPS market to their liking.
