Save the Date for Nvidia's GTC 2011: October 11-14

Nvidia has announced that this year's GPU Technology Conference will run between October 11 through October 14 at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. If you follow graphics industry and parallel computing, this is definitely the place to be.

This year, it appears that Nvidia has decided to expand the GPU Technology Conference into a larger venue, one where it used to be held back when it was part of Nvision. While we still have nostalgia about the first and unfortunately last Nvision, we are happy to announce that the Nvidia GPU Technology Conference has moved away from the Fairmont hotel where it has been held for the past two years and graduated to the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose.

On top of the physical move, Nvidia has also opted to move the event back about three weeks from when it was held in previous years. Both years that GTC was held, the event fell on yours truly’s birthday which is how the exact date is so easily remembered. Currently, Nvidia is gearing up to begin accepting calls for submissions as well as speakers, but we expect that to mostly occur later in the year much like previous years.

If previous years’ experiences were any measurements of success, we’re fairly confident that Nvidia will have yet another successful conference with many important speakers and exhibitors showing off what is possible with a little help from the GPU. It will be interesting to see how much Nvidia focuses on Tegra this year compared to the previous years’ considering the added amount of attention it has garnered in the past few months.
