While The New York Times Company and Rupert Murdoch's media empire named News Corporation are in the state of war, two corporations have one thing in common - they want to change the way readers receive their news online
More than a year after News Corporation put Wall Street Journal behind a pay wall, The New York Times Company is doing the same for their publications. This morning, members of New York Times' e-mailing list received the following notice:
We'll leave you to conclude for yourself and express your opinion in the comment section. In a way, with the increasing pressure from advertisers, it is getting harder and harder to produce content if you're not properly backed. NY Times is now taking the first step which seems to be working for Wall Street Journal and did not work as much for London's Times and Sunday Times
