Intel 22nm Haswell Design Promises 10 Days of Standby Autonomy




During Paul Otellini's keynote at IDF 2011, Intel's CEO mentioned that the company has completed work on the development of Haswell, its next generation architecture - set for launch in 2013.

One of key architectural improvements is promised all day autonomy for high-performance notebooks, which currently have 4-5 hour autonomy. The ultra-low power versions of Haswell should be able to last a whole flight from Singapore to New York (even though you have power powers in that all-business class Airbus A340-500 aircraft).
