MotionDSP is predominately known for Ikena, revolutionary military grade image analysis software
. Few years ago, the company released the commercial version of the image analysis called vReveal, focusing on video stabilization.
After winning multiple contracts, MotionDSP
decided to launch another part of their innovative technology to the consumer market. A new iteration of OpenCL accelerated technology is called WiderAlbum
, a website where users can upload their panorama images and show just what vReveal can do with the images.San Francisco Panorama by Nikola Bozinovic, CTO of MotionDSP.
We have seen the results of same set of images using the built-in camera function on a compact digital camera, commercial panorama making software and the vReveal 3 technology. Without any doubt, the vReveal 3 created a much better and smoother panorama image.
In order to promote the service, MotionDSP is running a competition where users can upload their images free of charge to WiderAlbum and compete to win the best panorama image.
The rules of engagement are very simple: download and install vReveal 3
(free software), create a panorama, upload it on WiderAlbum
and them compete in one of three categories:
• Most Popular Panorama - On Facebook, get your friends (and friends of friends) to view your panorama on WiderAlbum and "Like" it. The panorama with most Facebook Likes wins (on WiderLens.com, not on Facebook.com).
• Most Creative Panorama – show your artistic side and impress our star-studded panel. If they think your panorama is the most creative, you win.
• Luckiest Panorama – hey - all you have to do is to participate! The winner of the third iPod Touch will be determined through a random drawing from all eligible panorama submissions received before the end of the Contest Period (see below).
However, you have to be quick - the competition only runs until Friday, September 23 at 11:59PM Pacific Daylight Time (Saturday 8:59AM CET).
