CES 2012 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas is a promise factory. Everyone in the electronics industry is trying to put their best foot forward with a shine on their shoes and promises of things to come. Verifying if those promises are fulfilled is akin to checking out
Jeanne Dixon’s January predictions for the new year in December of the same year.
Here are some of the products that have been promised, starting with A and going to Z:
Ace Computers will debut their FORCE™ line of Computer Forensic Workstations for data acquisition, analysis and Password cracking.
Audible Magic builds intelligence into TVs that interact with viewers based on what they are watching. The company promises a significant announcement regarding a new service that identifies in real-time, live, never before broadcast content.

Bluetree Electronics will present its
theKube2 player already popular in Singapore to the world. It is the smallest, nano-cube sized (1"x1", 2.5x2.5cm) touch MP3 player in an ultra-light weight, sturdy aluminum body, with a touch sensor for screen navigation and full body changeable skins.
Givit is launching an easy video sharing site with iPhone/iPad/Android applications that easily let you share large video files with close family and friends with one upload. Givit says you can share videos from any camera, Smartphone or camcorder.
GlobalFoundries known for high volume manufacturing of High-K Metal Gate 32/28nm technology looks forward to their FAB 8 pumping out the newest 28nm designs, followed by 20nm and below. The initial production of FAB 8 is expected to initiate in summer and the actual revenue production to commence in December 2012.
Intel says it will release an update to a software development kit for media application developers that create software for video playback, compression, and editing including hardware acceleration features.

Optoma, develops projectors for home theater, gaming and mobile use. They will unveil two all-new lightweight, LED-based, personal/mobile multimedia projectors designed for on-the-go professionals.

iBike POWERHOUSE, a bicycle-based fitness system that provides a suite of targeted fitness programs. The iBike POWERHOUSE system includes a weatherproof iPhone case with sensor electronics to measure progress and results.
iDevices will introduce iShower, a water resistant, Bluetooth enabled speaker that plays music directly from your Apple and Android devices. The product mounts in your shower or can be taken to the beach or pool.
uWand is coming from Phillips in a range of new product demonstrations in partnership with its new set-top-box, chip set and gaming partners. When embedded in remote controls uWand gives users fluid and accurate direct pointing and 3D gesture control on Smart TVs, making it an intuitive hybrid controller.
Finally, there is
Zmote, a new company that hopes its first product, Smart Cord, which allows you to control electronic devices from Bluetooth capable products such as smartphones, tablets and computers will fulfill its founders dream of success. It is an extension cord that can be turned on/off across all phone brands and other capable Bluetooth devices
After the excitement of CES fades, we will keep our fingers crossed that all the predictions made at the January 2012 Consumer Electronics Show come to fruition and all the companies exhibiting there achieve success. December 2012 should give us the answers.
