Meet Giampaolo, he is a good looking [is that your professional or personal comment, Daniela? Ed.] alleged recent college grad / engineer, shopping around for a laptop. And he is a new leading actor in the new Microsoft ad series "Laptop Hunters".
The laptop that he is looking is not just some laptop, but laptop that has portability, battery life, and is powerful – for under $1,500. See here how his hunt went by going to the official site. Bear in mind that you will have to install Silverlight to see the video. Or just hit Youtube.
As you can notice in the video, there was just no way that Microsoft will spend $300 million on a marketing campaign without taking a dump on Apple. Seriously guys, if you want to diss Apple, then PC world has to come to its senses and start offering better and more unique looking products. If an aluminum PC case costs $50-100 more than a steel one, what's the price of making a sleek notebook?
But the real question here is… Giampaolo, are you a professional actor or did Microsoft's marketing agency finally learn its lesson and hire somebody that would actually purchase the product and keep the money? That is one single thing that separates this ad from having a point to being a mockery.
We have contacted Microsoft and are awaiting for a reply.
