UPDATED: Fry's Begins to Stock and Sell Intel Core i5 750
8/12/2009 by: Anshel Sag

We just got word that Fry’s has begun to sell Intel Lynnfield Core i5 750’s and has them both in stores as well as available online.

If you take a look on the Frys.com, you can see that they are being sold for $205 and the specifications match most those of the product specs Intel has on file. A source indicated that while these processors were in stock at the time, they were not in the system and that they currently did not have any P55 boards to accompany the processors.

Please note that Frys specifies triple-channel memory, which is notcorrect - Core i5 utilizes LGA-1156 socket and features dual-channel,e.g. 144-bit memory controller.

Although, we believe that they will be coming in stock shortly as well. So, as one can see… the time for the P55/Lynnfield launch is getting nearer and nearer and now they are becoming available in stores in the United States and Taiwan. There still doesn’t appear to be any sort of official announcement of any sort, but rather more of a trickling of various parts and reviews across the board. We expect the official launches of P55 boards to come next week though, ahead of the speculated Sept 1st date.

UPDATE #1 August 13th, 2009 19:49 GMT - We received first image from Fry's, confirming that the processors are now in store, ready for launch sometimes next week. For those asking, picture was taken in the United States :-) And as expected, Intel did get involved and now the product is no longer listed.
