DiRT 2 website features Yugoslavian money, Croatian flag

Colin McRae's DiRT 2 will probably have the honor of being the first DirectX 11 game out the door. The game will launch on September 11th on popular gaming consoles [Nintendo DS and Wii, Sony PSP and PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360]. But DirectX 11 isn't the reason for this story...
Take a good look at the right side of the page, just above the release date
As you can see on the image above, the game is actually set for launch one day after AMD hosts its Evergreen launch in San Francisco if you select the European page. If you select the American page, the date shifts to September 8th. Unfortunately, these are not the dates when the PC version will see its debut. In order to implement DirectX 11 features, Codemasters decided to delay the title for the holiday release slot in December.
But what makes the image above interesting is an interesting artwork Codemasters decided to use for its promotional page.
Three years after Coca Cola's GTA-looking ad debuted a helicopter from Yugoslav People's Army, the makers of DiRT 2 feature a Yugoslav dinar with the statue of Nikola Tesla over at the Niagara Falls State Park. We believe that the authors of the game used the banknote explicitly because of Nikola Tesla, as this design was used with different values during the past couple of decades.
Then again, given the currencies usually used in Codemasters' games, we did not exactly expect that a Yugoslav dinar would make its appearance, but in today's world everything is possible.
This was not the only reminder that some of brilliant game developers and artists come from this side of the world [even though BSN* is a global company, roughly half of all the staff resides in Croatia].
Croatian flag on the wall during the intro flyby
While checking to see if Yugoslav dinar appears on the wall of every country on the site, we also noticed a flag on the wall. Set below the poster for the first version of DiRT, above the Utah plate - the flag in picture is actually an official flag of my home country [Republic of Croatia]. All in all, a good way to start the Monday - flag or no flag, I personally cannot wait for the game to appear.
